Anchorage runners - Kelley & Canterbury LLCAn important part of any community is the health and wellness of its people. In Anchorage, we are proud of the local wellness events put on annually all across the municipality and are even more excited about the growing number of people participating.

In July, there are many running events in and around Anchorage that we encourage you to take advantage of. There are races for all ages and experience levels, so get out there and get healthy, Alaska!

Boondocks Breakaway, July 7

  • Kincaid Outdoor Center
  • Scenic trails through park
  • 2.5K and 5K
  • 11 a.m.
  • ARC Membership race

All-Comers Track & Field Meet #4, July 11

  • The Dome
  • Various distances
  • USA Track & Field sanctioned event
  • 6 p.m.
  • $5 entry fee

DFS Recovery Run, July 13

  • Campbell Creek trails
  • 5K
  • 9 a.m.
  • $20 entry fee

Trond’s Sprint-O, July 17

  • Wendy Williamson parking lot
  • 5 p.m. to 7 pm.
  • Junior $2/adults $8 entry fee

Masters’ 5 & 10K, July 17

  • Chuck Albrecht Fields
  • Flat, paved trails
  • 5K and 10K
  • 5:30 p.m.
  • ARC Membership race

XTERRA Hammerman Ducathlon, July 20

 

  • Little Campbell Lake/Kincaid Park
  • 1.2-mile trail run, 13-mile mountain mike, 4-mile train run, off-road duathlon
  • 10 a.m.
  • $70 entry fee

Alaska Men’s Run, July 20

  • Chester Creek paved trails
  • 5-mile run, 2-mile walk
  • 10 a.m.
  • Post-race barbeque.
  • $45 pre-registered/$80 race day

Hern Tern Women’s ½ Marathon, July 21

  • Skinny Raven Sports
  • 13.1 miles
  • Loop course
  • 9 a.m.

Dog Jog, July 27

  • East High School
  • 1-mile and 5K races
  • Cross country trails
  • 10 a.m., family fair 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
  • $20 entry fee, $45 for family

Run for Relief, July 27

  • West Turnagain
  • 5K
  • 10 a.m.
  • Donations accepted

Whether you’re younger, older, in shape, or looking to get fit, we hope you’ll get out there and enjoy one of the many running events Anchorage has to offer!
