Who’s ready for some hoops this winter?
The University of Alaska Anchorage (UAA) Seawolves are hosting the Great Alaska Shootout November 26th, 2013 – November 30th. The Shootout started in 1978 and is “the longest running regular-season tournament in men’s college basketball.” The tournament is held at the Sullivan Arena.
UAA’s men’s team kicks the tournament off against Texas Christian University on November 28th at 10 p.m. AST (2 a.m. EST) and UAA’s women’s team takes on University of California Riverside on November 26th at 8 p.m.
The Shootout also features teams like Tulsa, Denver, Wisconsin-Green Bay, Harvard, Indiana State, TCU and Pepperdine.
CBS Sports Network will carry eight games from the tournament, starting with the November 27th Tulsa vs. Indiana State game at 7:30 p.m. AST (11:30 p.m. EST) and the UAA/Texas Christian game. Pepperdine takes on Green Bay at 5:30 p.m. AST (9:30 p.m. EST) on Thanksgiving night, Nov. 28, followed by Harvard vs. Denver at 8 p.m. AST (Midnight EST).
The semifinals kick off on November 29th at 5:30 p.m. AST (9:30 p.m. EST) and 8 p.m. AST (Midnight EST), and the championship game will take place on Saturday, Nov. 30 at 8:30 p.m. AST (12:30 a.m. EST/Dec. 1).
